Following the success of last season with the new judges rock star Steven Tyler and singer/actress Jennifer Lopez joining Randy Jackson in the judges table, the same judges are back on American Idol 2012 Season 11.
One of the many changes in American Idol Season 10 was the number of judges. In season 10, the number of judges went back to the original number which was three. Three judges, in my opinion, is just perfect. In season 1 to 7, there were only three judges--the original judges, who were Simon Cowell, Paula Abdul and Randy Jackson.
Because of Paula Abdul's strange (some people called it bizarre) behaviour during past seasons, it was said that the producers of American Idol were at their wit's end after Paula's odd tirade at the LAX Airport the month before the season 7 started, which almost got her fired. American Idol producers were talking quietly about replacing Paula. Their list of replacements included Janet Jackson, Cyndi Lauper, and Mariah Carey.
However, Paula Abdul was not fired but instead, the producers decided to add a fourth judge, Kara DioGuardi in season 8, in case Paula got a weirder. Paula got the hint and decided to quit in 2009, to the American Idol producers utter relief.
In season 9, the producers decided to keep four judges and brought in Ellen DeGeneres to replace Paula Abdul. I love Ellen DeGeneres, but lordy, Ellen was not a good judge.
When Simon Cowell left American Idol at the end of season 9, people wondered if it was the end of American Idol. Simon Cowell was arguably the best judge in American Idol and, without him, will the show survive? I almost cried when Simon left - almost but not quite - but I was truly sad to see the witty Brit go. I loved Simon Cowell's brutal honesty, albeit bordering on meanness or rudeness depending on his moods, but he said it the way it was. Then Ellen DeGeneres and Kara DioGuardi were gone. It was reported that when Ellen DeGeneres quit American Idol in July 2010, Kara DioGuardi was fired on the same day.
In season 10, big changes were made to try to boost the flagging ratings of the show. The American Idol executive producer, Nigel Lithgoe, added superstars Steven Tyler and Jennifer Lopez to the judges' panel. Good move!

Randy Jackson
Randy Jackson is an American bassist, singer, Grammy Award winning producer, music manager, A&R executive, and television personality.
He is one of the original judges on American Idol (from 2002 to present) and Executive Producer for MTV's America's Best Dance Crew.
Randy has been known to say "Yo, dog" a lot.
Randy takes Simon Cowell's place as the lead judge, and he seems to approve of his new fellow judges.

Jennifer Lopez
Jennifer Lopez (J.Lo to her fans)is an American actress, singer, record producer, dancer, television personality, fashion designer and television producer.
Her debut album went 6 x platinum.
J.Lo Is the only woman to have been voted the sexiest woman in the world twice in FHM (For Him Magazine).
She was the first Latina actress to be paid $1 million for a movie role (Selena(1997)).
By 2004, she had amassed a fortune estimated to be worth $255 million, due to her work as a singer, actress, and co-owner of Sweetface Fashions.
J.Lo is part owner of the Miami Dolphins.
During the audition weeks and last week's show, Jennifer Lopez has proven herself a great addition to the judges panel and a real trouper. She is sweet (sometimes too sweet), gorgeous and seems to really care about the contestants.
And the audience love her.

Steven Tyler
Steven Tyler is an American singer, performer and a multi-instrumentalist, and the frontman and lead singer of the Boston-based rock band Aerosmith, in which he also plays the guitar, and occasional piano and percussion.
Steven Tyler is also known as the "Demon of Screamin'" and is considered one of rock's greatest showman. During his high-energy performances, he usually dresses in bright, colorful outfits with his trademark scarves hanging from his microphone stand.
Recently, Steven Tyler has ended his long time feud with his long-time partner and songwriter, Joe Perry. He said that the two of them had “smoked the peace pipe,” and are now talking about recording a new album by his hard rock band Aerosmith. Since becoming a judge on American Idol, Aerosmith's sales of their "Greatest Hits" collection have gone up by 250 percent. The band's last album ”Honkin on Bobo," produced by Jack Douglas and released in 2004, reached number five on The Billboard 200 chart.
During the audition weeks and past weeks' judging, Steven Tyler has been delightful, funny, down-to-earth, and a great addition to the American Idol 2011 Season 10 judges' table. He's been known to say the bleeping "f" word during auditions, but I think he's mend his bleeping ways... or maybe not. Yet, the Idol fans don't seem to mind. He is the hottest "kid" on the Idol block.
Steven Tyler is simply awesome.

hi guys, i just love you. wanted to see you in pittsburgh but i got diagnosed with 2 types of cancer and was sick when you where here. no i do not sing but love watching all of those who do. you guys make this show and good judgement on your choosing the top 24. wishing i could see you all but,,,, you don't make house calls haha... I cannot believe that talent such as Erika Van pelt was not saved by the judges. She is an extremely talented woman, muchmore so than HeeJun who continues to stay in the competition. I do not understand.
That is why i do not watch these show anymore ,it has nothing to do with people voting but rather they make us look like fools ,know wonder why they are losing ratings ....and by the way i don't think that Sanchez is any good anyway,so what is the fuss all about?
Randy is a very racist guy. The only good for him is Josh. He always finds fouls to the other kids, and no matter what he just want the boy to win the title, even though there are much better singers than him. I find it very ridiculous that every week they give standing ovation to Josh, just because Randy ask the other judges to do it. For Jessica that has a gorgeous singing voiceis they never do it. Screaming, and probable "dirtying his pants" does not mean Josh is a good singer. We suffer when we see him screaming, and pushing, because the veins in his neck are popping up, and we think he is going to have a stroke. I don't think he should be the American idol since the other kids are much better than him. Randy, is pushing America too much for the boy to be the AI. and I don't think it is fear. Randy, and Jennifer!! don't push too much!!!, let as vote, and chose who is the best for us.

Randy is exactly correct in his decision....Josh had had it from the start...Jennifer is awesome but just not enough experience, we know they will all go to be signed on with someone good, so its a win win situation for all, except of course for me, I can't be in the front row to feast my eyes on Steven's "honkin Bobo"!!!! I would bless his little foot that he crippled up just fire all of us, and keeps on keeping on!!!! I adore you Steven Tyler....I am 60 years old taking care of my 34 year old disabled son, 84 year old mother and jobless at the moment but seeing AI makes is everyone happy!!!!! Mmmwwwahhh!!!! Jennifer Lopez I do think you are a good critic. I do not like the way you speak down to Jessica. Every week you make a comment about her age. Her age got nothing to do with the Idols. I am so glad you saved her, she is by far the best of the last four. Her mother send her a weekly message, always the same, "please stay humble", what a wonderful comment. Jimmy is the best in the industry, listen to him. Come on America vote for Jessica

The American idol judges need to be voted off ,ii'm sick of them trying to control who is voted off & who stays!!!! If they have the same judges next year I'm done watching!!! I hope it's good bye judges!!!!!!

This is for JLo. You pushed for PP from the very start. Phillip couldn't hold a candle to Jessica. He is in no way American Idol material. He should be singing in a western bar in Georgia. He looked like he slept in his clothes and has no personality. His voice is okay but he certainly in no way should he be the AI winner. All the teenie boppers voted for him. You guys always had. Something bad to say about the songs the others sang etc. but according PP was a genius. Maybe we need some new judges who knw talent when they see it.
I am so disappointed that Jessica did not win. Is this show about who has the best vocal voice or who can charm the ordience more or who is the best looking. Clearly Jessica can sing rings around Phillip any day of the week.

Please do not let Jennifer Lopez leave the show. Its not because of her looks. She has true compassion for the contestants. She's to what it takes. I only wish I could meet her in person. I would like to see Jen when she is not behind the camera.
