ELECTRIC FONDUE SET/POT REVIEW - Best Fondue Sets/Pots Reviews
Fondue is making a comeback! Oh yes it is! Remember the '60s when every household in America had a fondue set? What? You were not born yet? Me neither.
But as the story goes, almost every Saturday, there was a fondue party going on. It was so romantic as the fondue then was heated by an itsy bitsy candle that sat at the bottom of the pot, which was more of a decoration really than anything else. And if I remember the story correctly, they (who are they? the old people now!) could never get the cheese to stay melted and they didn't have microwave ovens then. Well, thank goodness the fondue manufacturers finally decided to invent fondue burners and gel fuel. That seemed to solved the problem. So instead of waiting forever to cook a piece of meat, with the gel fuel it only took about half that time. But I guess eating was not a priority in those days... smoking pot was... or so I heard.
With the success of The Melting Pot, with 140 locations across 36 states and recently opened locations across Canada, the fun in "fundue" is back! People of all ages are enjoying fondue again. And after having fun at The Melting Pot, people are deciding to have fondue at home, as it is a lot cheaper. So now fondue parties are in again! Fondue is back! And the best thing is, we don't have to deal with itsy bitsy candles or gel fuels anymore. Well, you can still dust off your 1960 vintage sets if you like - yes, they are still selling fondue candles which they now call "tea lights" - or, get yourself a brand new electric fondue set. The electric fondue sets are much more convenient and safer to use. Do I hear a Yippeedoodledoo?
Here are the best selling electric fondue pots in the market:

Customer reviews
Out of 45 Reviews, 27 customers gave it 5 stars, 15 gave it 4 stars, 2 gave it 2 stars, and only 1 gave it 1 star.
Average customer rating: 4 1/2 stars
What customers like:
- The best one in the market for versatility, utility and stylishness.
- Being electric it is very convenient to use and arguably safer than "sterno" units.
- It is versatile and can be used with cheese, meat or dessert fondues. Compared to others presently on the market, it has the distinct advantage of being the only one truly designed for all three types of fondue.
- the pot is separate from the heating base. This means you can heat the pot in the kitchen and bring it to the table when ready.
- The heating surface is teflon coated for easy clean up.
- The unit is also more "upright" than the other electrics which takes up less space on your table.
- What gives the Trudeau its distinct advantage is the unique double boiler system where, when making cheese or dessert fondue, you fill the chrome pot with 20 ounces of water and insert a stoneware crock into the pot. The arrangement allows for even heating at lower temperatures which is essential for cheese and chocolate fondues.
- For oil or broth fondues, the chrome pot sit atop the direct heat of the heating base as you would expect.
- Six better than average fondue forks are included along with a fork holder for the chrome pot to keep the forks from sliding around.
- Another nice feature is the patented electric plug which eliminates the guesswork of knowing which way to insert the plug into the base.
What customers didn't like:
- the power cord (which attaches magnetically) detaches very easily

I remember the '60s fondue craze, but my friends preferred a good barbeque. Maybe I'll try it this time around.
Good Hub!
I haven't had fondue is ages but I remember how much fun it is to have it at a party. This pot looks nice.
Hiya ssaul, so nice of you to drop by. You love cookware? This is a great addition to your collection. The Trudeau one is the best, aside from using is as fondue, you can use it as a food warmer. I'm getting that one.
Happy New Year!

Hiya Will, so nice of you to drop by. Fondue is more for having fun while you eat but it could also be filling.. imagine all those strawberries dipped in mouth-watering melted chocolate... hmmm let the fun begin! But I'm sure men prefer barbecue because it's more filling and I must admit tastier!
Happy New Year!
Rosie
Hiya Pam, me too! I have not been to The Melting Pot that just opened here in Toronto, and I had given away my fondue set ages ago. But with the electric fondue, I think I'll give a try for a little get-together.
Happy New Year!

Hey Sugar....that sure beats trying to keep the fondue hot and melted with a pot on the stove or using candles. The question is...all things considereed (like I live alone and rarely have parties)do I really need one now? What you think?
Hiya my darling handsome cowboy Gets, hey I don't see your handsome pic. I know the problem now, if you don't sign in, you can still leave a comment but no pic. As getting an electric fondue, invite over your sister Chris and Terry and your daughters and grandkids for fondue Super Bowl party. That'd be awesome!
Happy New Year!
